Sandrock - Godrevy (S15)
Sandrock - Godrevy (S15)

Sandrock was formed when the sea level was higher than now - some 190,000 years ago.
Beach sands with a high calcium carbonate content from shell material became cemented
together to form the Sandrock.
This ‘Sandrock’ is just about sufficiently hard enough to be used as a building stone, and it represents
one of the geologically youngest freestones ( an easily carved stone ).

Location - Godrevy is to the North of Hayle in Gallery 15
