Mulfra Quoit- Portal Dolmen

A Portal Dolmen with a displaced Capstone on the top of Mulfra Hill .
3 slabs (1.7m high) of the Chamber remain , the 4th has been missing since at least 1750 .
The displaced Capstone (5 tonne) is about 3m x 3m x 0.5m and rests against 2 of the Chambers vertical slabs.
The Quoit originally stood within a stone cairn . The Hill top gives a fine view over Mount's Bay.

Location - West Cornwall - Lands End Penninsula / West Penwith.
Mulfra Hill is to the North of Newmill ( Penzance to Treen - minor road) .
The hill top can be reached from Tredinnack , Mulfa , Try Valley
( A steep FP / or further to the north a more gentle FP from near a road junction) , paths can be muddy in winter.
The Quoit is on the crossing of two footpaths
