Hawker's Cove
Hawker's Cove

Overlooking Hawker's Cove are six cottages (1874) built for the crews of the pilot gig boats,
who would pilot shipping around the dangerous sandbars in the Camel Estuary to Padstow .
The old lifeboat station ( 1931- 1967 ) is out of view on the south side of the cove.
A large expanse of sand appears here on a low tide , joining up with Harbour Cove to the South
and The Doom Bar (a sand bar notorious to shipping) to the East.
